Our Pronto Delivery Drivers earn $27.36 an hour. We are looking for Pronto Drivers who relish the chance to push their potential, grow and reap the rewards of joining the US FOODS® family.

Monday
- Friday 6 AM start time until finished, typically around 4 pm

Main Ingredients of the Job
  • As a US FOODS ® PRONTO DRIVER you will be critical to the US FOODS ® team and one of the important faces of our organization. As a Pronto Driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites. Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.
  • Lift 80+ lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
  • Use a hand truck to deliver to the customer location including going up and down stairs with the product as necessary.
  • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.
  • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
  • Communicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).
  • Deliver the product to each of the designated stops using the stop sequence provided for the day.
  • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer.
  • Check the invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.
  • Collect payments if necessary.
  • Monitor refrigeration system on van consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
  • Education/Training :
    High School Education or GED preferred
  • Related Experience/Requirements:
    Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
  • No more than 2 convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past 3 years, no driver's license suspensions in the past 3 years.
  • No commercial or professional driving experience is required.
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months of local delivery experience and/or food service industry experience preferred.
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
    Able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Must pass pre-employment testing
  • Have knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.
  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques
  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Availability to work on weekends and Holidays
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $30 per hour.

This role may also receive incentive compensation as applicable and overtime as applicable.
