Accounting Specialist

First Equity Mortgage, a subsidiary of Drees Homes, is seeking an Accounting Specialist for our Northern Kentucky office.

• Assist in preparation of accounts payable and executing weekly payment runs.
• Maintain all vendor records in the accounting system for integrity and verification purposes.
• Prepare journal entries, collection of mortgage payments, account reconciliations, and assist with monthly closing processes.
• Support cash function including electronic transfers, electronic receipt of wires, daily deposits, and other daily cash activity.
• Reconcile and record purchase advices from investors.
• Assist with annual audits.
• Assist accounting department with special projects and ad hoc reports.

• 2-4 year degree in Accounting or Finance, or related work experience will be considered.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working in accounting software.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, reconciliation, vendor management, and journal entries.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented.
• Utilizes problem‑solving abilities and time‑management skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
