The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically curious, and comfortable working across both digital design and physical production processes. Responsibilities CAD Design & 3D Modeling
- Create and modify 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (Solid Works preferred)
- Translate sketches, concepts, and engineering inputs into accurate digital models
- Prepare and optimize files for 3D printing, including orientation and support structures
- Maintain organized design files and version control
- Set up, operate, and monitor 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.)
- Prepare print jobs using slicing software (e.g., Cura, Orca Slicer, Bambu Studio)
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of printing equipment
- Manage print queues and ensure timely production
- Perform finishing processes such as support removal, sanding, curing, and surface finishing
- Inspect printed parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
- Document results and contribute to continuous process improvements
- Partner with product development and design teams to iterate designs
- Assist with material selection and testing of new processes
- Support ongoing improvements in design and manufacturing workflows
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in CAD, engineering technology, or related field
- Basic proficiency with CAD software (Solid Works, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and slicing tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Hands-on experience with FDM, SLA, or other additive manufacturing systems
- Exposure to product development or prototyping environments
- Understanding of basic mechanical design principles
- Experience with 3D print post-processing techniques and materials
