• Meets required physical examination
• Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law

• Keeps all buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times
• Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as appropriate
• Checks daily to ensure all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during building occupancy
• Sweeps classrooms daily and dusts furniture
• Cleans corridors after school each day and as needed during the day
• Scrubs, hoses down, and disinfects toilet floors daily; cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
• Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year, or more if necessary
• Keeps grounds free from garbage and debris
• Performs yard-keeping chores such as grass cutting and tree trimming as necessary
• Keeps all floors clean and well-maintained
• Makes minor building repairs within capability
• Reports major repairs promptly to the principal and Building Operations Supervisor
• Maintains motors and mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis, including HVAC
• Reports any damage to school property immediately
• Remains on school premises during school hours and during authorized non-school hours
• Handles opening and closing of the building daily, ensuring all doors and windows are secured and lights are turned off as appropriate
• Keeps an inventory of supplies and requisitions replacements in advance
• Performs ongoing maintenance, upkeep, and repair
• Moves furniture or equipment as directed by the principal
• Follows laws and procedures for trash and waste disposal
• Performs other duties as assigned
