Physical Therapist - Home Health
This position involves providing home visits for therapy services. The contractor will have periodic office meetings. The average number of patients seen per day is 5-6. Contractors will be assigned between 5-10 patients per day, translating to roughly 6-8 points. Each type of visit and activity, including documentation and travel, holds a different point value. In the event of low patient census, contractors may discuss floating to a nearby clinic to increase hours.
Types of cases include Start of Care and Follow Ups. All candidates must have recent Home Health experience; first-timers are not accepted. Weekend requirements may vary by location. Traveling up to 75 miles from the home clinic is required. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate. Travel compensation applies from patient home to patient home. The commute to and from the first and last patient is not billable.
The contractor must be comfortable with drives that can exceed 20 minutes between patients. Documentation must be completed within 24 hours of each patient appointment. Delayed or incomplete documentation impacting billing and patient care may lead to cancellation. There are no guaranteed hours with this contract; the contractor must achieve a weekly productivity point total of 30. All overtime must be pre-approved.
If insufficient patients are received weekly, the contractor will have the opportunity to float to another local clinic to pick up additional patients. Proficiency in designated EMR systems is required, having used them within the last six months.
