Job Summary

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure customer return visits. Treat customers and employees fairly and ethically. Promote an inclusive work environment and a responsible community member. Provide the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Responsibilities
  • Create an environment that welcomes customers and makes them feel important by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold in the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all equipment in the coffee shop such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud to store management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
