Job Summary
Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure customer return visits. Treat customers and employees fairly and ethically. Promote an inclusive work environment and a responsible community member. Provide the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing. Responsibilities- Create an environment that welcomes customers and makes them feel important by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
- Maintain knowledge of products sold in the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions.
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals.
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of coffee shop specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
- Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
- Use all equipment in the coffee shop such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness and review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
- Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of items in need of repair.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud to store management.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Any previous comparable experience.
