You will utilize specialized plan‑of‑care interventions, shape outstanding patient journeys, and employ cutting‑edge technology to directly impact patient well‑being. A Nurse Extern works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Unit Manager; accountable to:
Chief Nursing Officer. FLSA:
Non‑exempt.

• Works collaboratively with the patient care team.
• Performs direct patient care under the direction, delegation and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to supervising RN.
• Maintains positive professional relationships with patients/families, coworkers, and the health care team.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Supports performance‑improvement philosophy.

• Assists with orientation and training of personnel and students.
• Participates and attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Education:
  
  School of Nursing 1st‑year student or higher.
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP).

Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
