An PACU Nurse (RN) who excels in this role will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Performs duties as assigned and requested.
• Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
• Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
• Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
• Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree required, BSN preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Valley View Medical Center is a 102,000-square-foot acute‑care facility with two adjacent medical office buildings offering exceptional care to the community. It has 52 medical/surgical beds, 12 acute rehabilitation beds, 12 intensive care beds, an 8-bed labor, delivery, and postpartum unit, and a 16-bed Emergency Department. Valley View Medical Center is the only all‑private bed hospital serving the Bullhead City/Laughlin/Needles area.
