Job Description & How to Apply Below

Eagala is an 1,800 member professional association that supports the global workforce of mental health and equine professionals in the practice of equine‑assisted psychotherapy (EAP), a therapeutic modality that incorporates horses in the healing process. Our last conference was in 2024, and we are looking for an intern to help us distribute an RFP for our 2028 conference, connecting with CVB staff in about a dozen locations, providing the RFP that has been drafted, either via email or a portal, and then receiving the proposals and organizing the data in them for comparison's sake.

This intern will have access to the association's executive director and to the conference venue/site selection committee, and, accordingly, he/she will get good insight and experience into the process that associations go through to select a venue/site for their meetings. Following the site selection, if the relationship/experience is a good one, we would certainly consider continuing the internship through 2027 and into 2028 as the goal is to host the conference in Q1 2028.

Responsibilities
  • Distribute an RFP for the 2028 conference, connecting with CVB staff in about a dozen locations and providing the drafted RFP via email or a portal.
  • Receive proposals and organize the data for comparison.
  • Work closely with the executive director and conference venue/site selection committee, gaining insight into the process of selecting a venue/site for meetings.
Qualifications
  • Some basic knowledg of the meeting planning RFP process for venues/host hotels
  • Highly organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Comfortable following up
  • Eager to learn about the meeting planning aspect of site selection

Interested individuals are encouraged to provide a resume and cover letter noting their experience and availability. We anticipate this will be no more than five to six hours per week at the outset, with more hours added should the intern remain with us for 2027 meeting planning activity/hosting.
