Senior Project Manager

Heavy Civil Construction | Fort Myers, FL

About the Role

We are a long-established, Florida-based specialty contractor with deep roots in heavy civil and deep well construction. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take full ownership of our most demanding projects — from preconstruction through closeout. You will be the central point of accountability for budget, schedule, safety, and client relationships, leading the field and office teams that turn complex water, infrastructure, and drilling work into finished projects.

This is an in-office position based in Fort Myers with occasional day trips to active jobsites across the state. If you take pride in running clean, well-documented projects and want a seat at the table on signature infrastructure work, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Own assigned projects end to end, taking responsibility for profitability, schedule performance, and overall client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports, and review estimates and bids to confirm scope and pricing are accurate.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical-path activities early and resequencing work to protect the completion date.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle — subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, and submittals — with clean, current documentation.
  • Partner with superintendents and field crews to coordinate drilling, sitework, and installation activities and keep production on plan.
  • Lead procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors, negotiating terms that protect both quality and margin.
  • Champion a strong jobsite safety culture and verify compliance with company, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Run regular owner and internal progress meetings, communicating status, risks, and recommendations clearly to every stakeholder.
  • Mentor assistant project managers, coordinators, and engineers, helping grow the next generation of project leaders.
What You Bring
  • Seven or more years of project management experience in heavy civil, deep well drilling, underground utilities, water/wastewater, or comparable infrastructure construction.
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience earned in the field.
  • Proven command of project scheduling software (Primavera P6 or similar) and strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical drawings, and to translate them into actionable field plans.
  • Demonstrated skill in budget management, contract negotiation, and change management on projects of significant size and complexity.
  • Sharp organizational instincts and the composure to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for leading teams and working alongside owners, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification and a working knowledge of Florida construction and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with government or municipal construction projects.
Why Join Us

You’ll join a stable, employee‑focused company with a reputation for tackling the projects others can’t. We offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, and the kind of long‑term project pipeline that lets you build a career rather than chase the next job. Here, your leadership has a visible, lasting impact on the infrastructure communities across Florida depend on.
