We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Commercial Construction Sales Estimator to join our team. Based on‑site in Punta Gorda, FL, this full‑time role involves preparing accurate and competitive construction cost estimates, developing client relationships, and fostering new business opportunities. The Estimator will collaborate with project teams to conduct cost analyses, obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and deliver efficient and reliable construction proposals.
Strong customer service and communication skills, combined with a focus on precision and timeliness, are essential to succeed in this role. This position is ideal for someone who understands commercial construction, enjoys building relationships, and can balance technical estimating responsibilities with sales and business development efforts.
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, architects, designers, and project partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and assist in generating leads for commercial construction projects.
- Prepare proposals, bid packages, budgets, and cost breakdowns for client review.
- Collaborate with internal project management and field teams to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, client meetings, and project walk‑throughs as needed.
- Track bid opportunities, follow up with prospective clients, and support sales efforts through timely communication.
- Maintain organized estimating records, vendor databases, project documents, and proposal information.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to help clients meet budget, quality, and project goals.
- Support a smooth handoff from estimating to project management after awarded work.
- Proficient in customer service and communication to build and maintain strong client relationships and manage inquiries effectively.
- Experienced in sales and business development, with a proven ability to generate leads, build partnerships, and drive revenue growth.
- Skilled in project estimation, including analyzing project specifications, preparing bids, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and external partners.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, building codes, and industry best practices for commercial construction projects is highly desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for estimating and project management is a plus.
- Ability to work on‑site in Punta Gorda, FL.
- Experience estimating commercial construction projects, including tenant improvements, build‑outs, renovations, ground‑up construction, or similar project types.
- Existing relationships with local subcontractors, suppliers, developers, property managers, architects, or business owners in Southwest Florida is a plus.
