What You'll Do

The Concrete Laborer supports field construction operations by assisting with the preparation, placement, finishing, and cleanup of concrete work on residential and commercial construction projects. This role performs general construction labor, assists with concrete forms and reinforcing materials, moves and stages materials, and maintains tools, equipment, and jobsites. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work, and comfortable working independently and as part of a construction team.

Previous concrete or construction experience is helpful but not required.

Concrete Construction & Placement
  • Assist with the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete for construction projects
  • Support concrete pours by moving, distributing, positioning, and handling concrete and related materials
  • Assist with spreading, leveling, and preparing concrete as directed by experienced crew members or supervisors
  • Prepare work areas prior to concrete placement and support cleanup following completion of work
  • Follow project plans, specifications, and supervisor instructions to support accurate and timely project completion
  • Assist experienced concrete personnel with additional construction activities as needed
Formwork & Reinforcing Materials
  • Assist with setting, positioning, securing, and removing concrete forms
  • Help prepare formwork areas prior to concrete placement
  • Install and position rebar, wire mesh, dowels, and other reinforcing materials according to project requirements
  • Assist with measuring, staging, and organizing reinforcing and forming materials
  • Inspect materials for obvious damage or concerns and report issues to the appropriate supervisor
Material Handling & Jobsite Support
  • Load, unload, move, stage, and distribute concrete materials, construction supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Safely carry and position construction materials throughout active jobsites
  • Assist with jobsite setup and breakdown activities
  • Maintain organized material and equipment staging areas
  • Support other field construction activities as project needs require
Tools & Equipment
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and approved construction equipment
  • Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damaged or unsafe equipment
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, forms, and work areas following use
  • Store tools and materials properly to prevent damage and maintain jobsite organization
  • Follow established operating procedures for all assigned equipment
Safety & Jobsite Maintenance
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, jobsite procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, accidents, and near misses
  • Follow safe lifting, material-handling, ladder, and scaffold practices
  • Wear required PPE throughout assigned work activities
  • Work safely around construction equipment, vehicles, concrete operations, and other trades
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
