CPH is a multi‑disciplined engineering and architectural design firm that ranks among the nation’s top 500 design firms by ENR Magazine. We are actively hiring a Junior Project Manager - Civil with a commercial large retail focus in Ft Myers, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfilling the responsibilities of a Project Manager as part of project design teams including architects, engineers, designers, consultants and clients.
  • Develop, negotiate and manage project scopes, contracts, planning, schedules, budgets, change orders and billing.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with firm disciplines, other project managers, and business development teams.
  • Research, interpret and ensure implementation of company and client requirements, standards and templates.
  • Assist with the preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits, including travel to perform business development and project management tasks.
  • Oversee and assist with compiling documents and construction plans from all disciplines, and submit them to regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee project quality control implementation.
  • Weekly coordination with and reporting to clients and firm leadership on project status, schedule, budget and quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams to plan, schedule and allocate resources for all projects.
  • Review detailed project documents, timelines and budgets to ensure alignment for successful completion.
  • Ensure effective use of labor, materials and equipment, and assist the owner with procurement activities to secure favorable terms.
  • Manage on‑site CPH team members, coordinate vendors, assign tasks and ensure work aligns with project specifications.
  • Provide document control for all project documentation including inspections, delays, material testing and schedules.
  • Utilize project management software for shop drawings, RFIs, pay applications and change orders.
  • Manage project costs, maintain strict budget control and track construction administration expenses.
  • Communicate with the project team to address issues or delays, implement corrective actions and keep the project owner informed.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including clients, engineers and subconsultants, providing regular progress updates.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
  • Coordinate operations across internal and external teams to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing commercial projects for large retailers is a major plus.
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Business Management (not required) with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in project management and delivery from staff coordination to project delivery.
  • Strong project management skills, especially in coordinating quality design and engineering deliverables with analytical problem‑solving ability.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to perform plan and peer review of project design documents.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Smartsheet and Deltek is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of the project process from concept through construction and ability to develop and maintain effective schedules and budgets.
  • Effective judgment, instruction, prioritization skills, and ability to build consensus and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Superior social, communication, written and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and handle multiple projects while adhering to schedules and budgets.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self‑motivated.
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in construction/project management.
