Job Description Qualifications- Serve as the Department Chair for five (5) post-secondary Health Science programs. Oversee the planning, implementation, and accreditation (where applicable) of all Health Science programs. Coordinate program planning, scheduling, and faculty/clinical assignments. Support teachers with classroom coverage, lab activities, and on-site clinical visits. Serve as the primary liaison between administration, faculty, clinical partners, and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of full-time equivalent industry work experience in the Career and Technical Education program’s industry field.
- Health Science instructional positions may require a master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid industry certification/licensure in the Career and Technical Education program’s industry field.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Six years of industry work experience in the Career and Technical Education program’s industry field.
- Teaching or training experience in an academic or professional setting.
- Experience with instructional technology and learning management systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Demonstrated skill and proficiency in the vocational discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of students, school administrators, and industry leaders.

Essential Job FunctionsTypical duties include but are not limited to:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in assigned courses.
- Collaborate with college staff and industry partners to ensure program relevance and quality.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, simulations, and practicums and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades in accordance with college policies and accreditation guidelines.
- Participate in program planning, accreditation reviews, and institutional effectiveness initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in industry field and incorporate relevant changes into instruction.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment conducive to student learning.
- Advise, mentor, and provide career guidance to students.
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida and meet all school and District policy requirements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
