Exercise Science, Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Assignments will include teaching, at both undergraduate and/or graduate levels, as applicable.

Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Teaches core or elective courses in the undergraduate Exercise Science program as applicable. Contributes to course and/or curriculum development.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in Exercise science or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

• Doctorate degree or higher in from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience teaching courses at the undergraduate level.
• Five or more years of experience in the discipline.

• Knowledge of strength and conditioning techniques.
• Knowledge of fitness assessment training.
• Knowedlge of fitness assessment, exercise training, and exercise prescription.

• Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
• Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.
• Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
• Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
• Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals.
• Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
