Civil Site Engineer

Full Time, Fort Myers, FL, US

Salary Range: $ to $ Annually

Weston & Sampson is seeking a technically strong civil/site engineer to join our Fort Myers, Florida office. This role is ideal for an engineer with solid Florida stormwater, land development, and permitting experience who is looking to grow with an expanding Florida practice and take on increasing technical responsibility. We are open to candidates with approximately 6–8+ years of experience, but will also consider strong 4–6 year candidates with demonstrated Florida-specific expertise who are ready to step into a larger role.

What

you’ll do
  • Prepare site layouts, grading plans, utility plans, and drainage designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Lead Florida stormwater management design, including analysis, modeling, and preparation of supporting calculations and reports.
  • Use the Storm Wise/ICPR4 program to model pre-development and post-development stormwater site conditions to achieve regulatory compliance.
  • Compile and interpret local land development codes, zoning requirements, and state and regional permitting criteria.
  • Prepare and support permit applications for local, FDEP, and water management district approvals and respond to agency review comments.
  • Support construction administration activities, including review of contractor submittals and shop drawings, preparation of responses to RFIs, and coordination with the design team during construction.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and reviewing agencies throughout the design and permitting process.
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Storm Wise.
  • Florida-based site/civil engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on stormwater design, land development, and permitting.
  • Familiarity with Florida permitting agencies and processes, including local municipalities and regional/state regulators.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT with a clear path to licensure will be considered.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
