We are seeking a skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or be eligible to obtain one within six months. This role requires hands-on experience with transportation and traffic engineering projects across the state, including work with FDOT and local municipalities.
Your Responsibilities as a Transportation/Traffic Engineer:- Prepare and manage FDOT Driveway Connection Permit applications, including technical documentation and coordination with FDOT reviewers.
- Develop Traffic Impact Statements (TIS) for cities and counties throughout Florida.
- Conduct operational analyses and traffic modeling using Synchro/Sim Traffic, including scenario development and LOS evaluation.
- Perform traffic signal design, including plans, timing sheets, and coordination plans in alignment with FDOT and local agency standards.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and supporting calculations.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and permitting agencies.
- Support multidisciplinary teams on transportation engineering projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Florida PE license, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 3+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving history.
- Sponsorship not available now or in the future.
- Proficiency in:
- Synchro/Sim Traffic
- HCS (preferred)
- Micro Station or AutoCAD (preferred)
- Experience with:
- FDOT driveway connection permitting
- Traffic Impact Statements for local municipalities
- Traffic signal design
