Metric Engineering is seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector/Senior Engineer Intern to support our Fort Myers team. This role performs advanced field inspection, surveying, construction layout, and verification of engineering computations while providing leadership to junior inspectors. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator. SIGNING BONUSHigh School Diploma or equivalent
Senior Engineer Intern classification requires an EI Certificate
Experience RequirementsCandidates with a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management:
Minimum 1 year of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
Candidates without a qualifying degree:
Minimum 4 years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
Required CertificationsCTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
Nuclear Radiation Safety
Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Certification (Inspectors & Contractors)
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying, construction layout, and verification of engineering computations
Inspect roadway and bridge construction activities and conduct field tests
Coordinate, mentor, and oversee lower-level inspectors
Document construction progress and ensure compliance with project specifications
Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Work independently under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
