PositionThe Senior Associate, with a focus on tax, will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive financial services to client within our tax practice while also assisting clients with needs from MNMW’s other practices. This role requires a driven professional with a passion for combining analytical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results in high-pressure, dynamic environments. The Senior Associate will thrive on balancing technical precision with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and impactful manner to diverse audiences.
Duties & Responsibilities Client Management- Communicates directly with clients and develops relationships through business and social meetings.
- Meets with prospective clients and cultivates prospects through referral sources.
- Define the scope of engagements, prepare proposals, and manage expectations regarding deliverables, timelines, and costs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their business needs, financial situations, and goals.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients related to open projects, addressing concerns and providing updates on projects.
- Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability.
- Manage and monitor client deliverables and due dates.
- Assist with tax administration projects assigned by Tax Practice Leader.
- Lead and oversee multiple tax projects simultaneously.
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget while adhering to professional standards.
- Identify potential risks (e.g., missing data, client delays) and implement mitigation strategies, as necessary.
- Leverage current software tools for financial modeling, project tracking, and collaboration while also providing guidance on new tools that can make our work more accurate and efficient.
- Prepare simple and complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and non-consolidated C-corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, Fiduciary, and Non-Profit Organizations.
- Prepare simple and complex U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.
- Prepare compiled financial statements for Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals.
- Prepare and review client working trial balance from source documents and bank statement reconciliations.
- Gain expertise in all tax software programs, including CCH Axcess Tax.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and ethical guidelines related to the work performed.
- Discuss client matters with IRS and other taxing authorities in response to tax notices.
- Proven experience in working within a professional office environment.
- Open and honest communication is essential to success.
- Possess advanced oral, written & presentation skills to communicate effectively with leadership, partners and client managers along with the public and business owners within the community.
