As a certified disabled veteran-owned company, we are expanding our government contracting division and seeking an experienced Government Contracting & Procurement Specialist to help identify, pursue, and secure opportunities with Federal, State, County, Municipal, and other government agencies.
We are looking for someone who understands the government procurement process and, most importantly, has a proven track record of successfully pursuing government contracts.
Position OverviewThe Government Contracting & Procurement Specialist will lead and support our efforts to identify qualified government contracting opportunities, evaluate solicitations, develop competitive responses, and establish relationships with government procurement officials, prime contractors, and strategic partners.
This is not intended to be an entry-level government contracting position. We are specifically seeking someone who already understands the government procurement environment and can help 4 Corners Creative develop a repeatable strategy for generating government-sector revenue.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAM.gov, federal solicitations, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, state and local procurement portals, subcontracting opportunities, teaming arrangements, and veteran-owned small business contracting programs.
Key Responsibilities- Identify Federal, State, County, Municipal, and other public-sector contracting opportunities that align with 4 Corners Creative’s capabilities.
- Research opportunities through SAM.gov and applicable state and local procurement systems.
- Monitor RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Sources Sought notices, subcontracting opportunities, and other government solicitations.
- Evaluate opportunities and make bid/no-bid recommendations based on eligibility, competition, scope, profitability, and likelihood of award.
- Develop a government contracting pipeline and opportunity-tracking process.
- Coordinate and prepare government proposals, capability statements, responses, supporting documentation, and bid packages.
- Ensure submissions comply with solicitation requirements, deadlines, formats, and procurement regulations.
- Help position 4 Corners Creative to maximize applicable veteran-owned and disabled veteran-owned business contracting opportunities.
- Research appropriate NAICS codes, PSC codes, set-asides, contracting vehicles, and agency procurement forecasts.
- Identify prime contractors seeking qualified veteran-owned small business subcontractors and teaming partners.
- Build relationships with contracting officers, procurement specialists, small business offices, prime contractors, and government decision-makers.
- Attend or identify relevant government contracting events, matchmaking opportunities, industry days, and procurement conferences.
- Assist management with pricing strategies, proposal development, negotiations, and contract requirements.
- Maintain organized records of opportunities, submissions, deadlines, awards, and follow-up activities.
- Help develop a long-term Federal, State, and local government business development strategy.
- Proven experience in government contracting, procurement, business development, or government proposal management.
- Demonstrated experience pursuing Federal and/or State and local government contracts.
- Strong working knowledge of SAM.gov and government procurement processes.
- Experience reviewing and responding to government RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, Sources Sought notices, and other solicitations.
- Understanding of government set-aside programs and small business contracting.
- Familiarity with veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned contracting opportunities.
- Ability to interpret solicitation requirements and determine eligibility and compliance.
- Experience developing proposals, capability statements, bid responses, and supporting documentation.
- Strong research, writing, communication, organization, and project-management skills.
