Technical Support Specialist
Location:
Fort Myers, FL
Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Join one of our dynamic and established clients in Fort Myers as a vital member of the Information Technology team. This full‑time temp‑to‑hire role is dedicated to supporting the technological systems that are critical to daily operations. The Specialist will work closely with IT leadership to ensure the efficiency, security, and stability of the entire infrastructure through troubleshooting and strategic implementation of technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee technical support, promptly addressing and resolving issues related to computer hardware, software applications, and network connectivity.
- Execute the installation, setup, and ongoing maintenance of technology assets and software systems.
- Assist in the active monitoring and management of core network components, including routers, switches, and network security appliances.
- Implement scheduled operating system updates and security patches to ensure optimal system performance and robust data protection.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all IT processes, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with the IT administrator to identify areas for system improvement and deploy effective solutions.
- Provide necessary training and instructional support to end‑users on various IT‑related topics.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Prior professional experience in a similar IT or desktop support capacity.
- Demonstrated competence in various computer hardware components, operating systems, and commercial software packages.
- Practical knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, configurations, and effective troubleshooting methodologies.
- Exceptional problem‑resolution, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Proven capacity to be both an autonomous performer and an effective team collaborator in a demanding work environment.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or MCITP) are a plus.
- Must be physically capable of walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and working in confined spaces to install or service IT equipment.
- Ability to safely lift and move technological equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
