Directional Drill Locator

Description Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Accurately locate and track drill head using electronic locating equipment.
• Communicate bore path changes and depths to the drill operator.
• Read and interpret utility maps and plans.
• Monitor for existing utilities and potential conflicts.
• Ensure safety procedures and company standards are followed on site.
• Contribute proactively to a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment, in line with company safety guidelines.
• Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and successes with supervisors and team members.
• Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from immediate district office area based on client needs, business needs, and project scope.

• Knowledge:
  Understanding of materials, methods, and tools related to construction, particularly for underground utilities and conduit systems. Familiarity with Digi Trak, Subsite, or similar locating systems.
• Experience:
  
  1+ year experience with horizontal directional drilling and locating.
• Education:
  
  High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
• Licensing:
  Valid driver’s license required;
  Class A driver’s license preferred.
• Availability:
  Ability to work after hours, weekends, and evenings when needed. Willingness to relocate or travel regionally for project locations.
• Environment:
  Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and inclement weather. Must be able to stand, drive, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
• Strength and Coordination:
  Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina are necessary for tasks such as climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), balancing, walking, and handling materials.
• Protective Gear:
  Must be able to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Exposure:
  Ability to work in noisy or dusty conditions, and handle chemicals, solvents, and other mechanical or electrical hazards.

  Regional travel required.
