Production Manager
I hope you are doing well! We are seeking a hands-on, highly organized Plant Operations Manager to lead the production scheduling and plant operations in Fort Myers, FL for a growing manufacturing company. This role is the heartbeat of the manufacturing process—balancing production efficiency, customer communication, and operational oversight.
You’ll work closely with the Plant Manager, project managers, admin team, and customers to ensure every job—whether it’s 10 or 400 structures—is delivered on time and to spec. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in both the front-end business environment and the gritty, fast-paced world of production. The ideal candidate is coming from a Production Management or Plant Management role.
It can even be someone who is taking part in a Plant Manager In-Training program.
We are seeking an up and comer in the manufacturing operations world.
This individual must have strong exposure to production management, but also have exposure to the business side and making key decisions that impact the P&L.
* This position offers a strong salary + 30-35% bonus. We can also help with relocation.*
- Own the daily and weekly production schedule for the plant
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager to align labor, materials, and equipment
- Balance multiple jobs with varying structure counts and sizes
- Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
- Oversee outbound and inbound logistics to ensure timely deliveries
- Coordinate with drivers, yard staff, and customers for smooth dispatch
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers and project managers
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to assess build feasibility
- Provide updates on production timelines and delivery schedules
- Safety, Quality & Procurement
- Lead the plant’s safety program and ensure OSHA compliance
- Oversee quality control processes and troubleshoot production issues
- Manage purchasing of raw materials and supplies
- Supervise project managers and support the development of admin and plant teams
- Help build and refine internal systems and workflows
- Report to and collaborate with the Plant Manager on strategic initiatives
- 3+ years of experience in operations, production, or manufacturing management
- Experience in precast concrete, construction materials, or heavy manufacturing preferred
- Strong background in admin-side manufacturing (scheduling, procurement, customer service)
- Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively across departments
- Comfortable working in both office and plant environments
- Maturity, confidence, and presence to lead senior staff and speak with customers
