Pediatric Pre-Op RN

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 0600A-1630P, with call (4-5 shifts a month).

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Pre-Op RN with required experience in preoperative care to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric care, as well as experience in orthopedic and neurological procedures. You will be responsible for providing excellent nursing care to pediatric patients preparing for surgery, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for both patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and document patients' health status and medical histories.
• Prepare patients for surgery including education and emotional support.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and manage post-operative recovery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of preoperative experience required.
• Pediatric experience is required.
• Experience in orthopedic and neurological procedures is required.
• Proficient in EMR, specifically Epic.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Prior travel experience preferred.
