The Heart Institute is growing! We are expanding to support the community and adding to our already robust interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery services lines. If you are an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant that is competent with managing critical care patients, open heart patients, those requiring mechanical circulatory support and ECMO then this position is for you.
This position is located at Lee Health Health Park Medical Center.
- Single-site practice consisting of 5 APPs (3 on days, 2 on nights) covering 11 ICU beds; No stepdown, progressive care, or clinic .
- Schedule consists of 6x 13.5-hour shifts per 2-week pay period;
No call - Choice to do only days, nights, or combination
- Primary responsibility includes critical care management of open heart and mechanical circulatory system patients (ECMO, Impella) within institutional protocols under the supervision of a Cardiothoracic Surgeon
- Highly collaborative , multidisciplinary team partnered with in-unit Pulmonary Critical Care
- Partnered with ELSO for on-site ECMO education
- Robust opportunities for clinician growth and leadership development.
- Preferred 2+ years experience working with Cardiac and Critical Care patients including invasive procedures(central lines, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, chest tubes)
- Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (Acute pathway preferred) or Physician Assistant
- Graduate from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted license in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain this license prior to start
- Current BLS and ACLS credentials through the American Heart Association
- Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required
- Epic EHR with Healthcare AI to reduce charting requirements
