Facility: Ambassador Healthcare at College Park
Location: Fort Myers, Florida
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 Annually
Ambassador Healthcare at College Park is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Nursing Department and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence and resident care. This leadership role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding nursing operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and oversight for all daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
Develop, implement, and regularly update nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices.
Participate actively in the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program to maintain and enhance resident care standards.
Assist with surveys, audits, and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
Conduct routine rounds to evaluate resident care, staff performance, and adherence to clinical standards.
Address and resolve concerns, complaints, and grievances from residents, families, and nursing staff.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, resident-centered care.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing personnel to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
Monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate coverage to meet resident care needs.
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
Minimum of two (2) years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing setting.
Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop clinical teams.
