Fort Myers, Florida
A private medical practice in Fort Myers is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to support our growing pain management services. This position is ideal for an NP who enjoys building meaningful patient relationships and helping patients manage pain through evidence-based, individualized care. The role will initially require approximately 8–16 hours per week, preferably spread across two days, with flexibility in scheduling.
For the right candidate, there may be an optional opportunity to grow into a full-time position over approximately one year, depending on patient demand, mutual fit, and the NP’s interests and availability.
- IV Therapy:
Administer and oversee IV therapy treatments while following established safety, documentation, and infusion protocols. - Medication Management:
Evaluate patients and manage medications, including controlled substances when clinically appropriate and permitted under applicable guidelines. - Pain Management Support:
Work alongside the physician to support a variety of pain management approaches, including medication management, IV therapy, and basic office-based injections within the NP’s training and scope of practice. - Patient Care:
Assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, provide education, and monitor clinical progress. - Collaboration:
Coordinate closely with the physician, nursing team, and support staff to provide consistent, high-quality care. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records and treatment notes. - Service Development:
Help the practice expand selected clinical services, particularly its IV therapy offerings.
- Active and unrestricted Florida Nurse Practitioner license
- Florida prescriptive authority, including authority to prescribe controlled substances
- Current DEA registration, or ability to obtain one before beginning the position
- Prior IV therapy experience required
- Pain management experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and receive training in the practice’s pain management protocols
- Strong interpersonal, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the physician and clinical team
