We’re Watts, a leader in water solutions. Our Production Lab Technician works in Fort Myers, FL, performing quality control testing, chemical blending, and in‑process testing in a regulated manufacturing environment. The role supports product quality, compliance, and environmental stewardship by ensuring raw materials, in‑process chemistry, and finished products meet defined specifications and applicable GMP and ISO standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SOPs.
  • Accurately complete batch records, test records, and quality documentation per ISO 9001.
  • Support internal audits, CAPA, deviation investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and traceability for all testing, blending, and production activities.
  • Sample and test incoming raw materials against COA and internal specifications.
  • Identify, document, and raise nonconforming materials per quality system procedures.
  • Measure, weigh, mix, and blend extensive liquid and dry chemicals according to formulations and batch instructions.
  • Operate, monitor, and document blending, transfer, and production equipment.
  • Ensure correct labeling, segregation, and traceability of raw materials, intermediates, and finished batches.
  • Conduct quality testing on bulk liquid and dry chemical batches.
  • Perform in‑process quality checks to ensure chemistry consistency.
  • Conduct real‑time quality testing during bottle dispensing to ensure compliance before final packaging.
  • Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies; properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and waste.
  • Support pollution prevention, waste reduction, and safe chemical handling initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection‑ready lab and production areas.
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, warehouse, and supply chain teams.
  • Take on additional projects as assigned by the Operations Leader or company management.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or completed coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a chemistry lab, preferably in manufacturing or production.
  • Experience working under GMP and ISO‑based quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of chemical handling, laboratory testing, and quality control principles.
  • Experience performing analytical and physical testing of liquid and dry chemicals.
  • Ability to interpret COAs, specifications, batch instructions, and SOPs.
  • Strong documentation, recordkeeping, and data accuracy skills.
  • Attention to detail, commitment to quality and safety, and strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within production and quality teams.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting results, documenting work, and escalating issues.
  • Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and safety practices.
  • Must establish employment eligibility and pass background checks and pre‑employment testing.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related scientific field.

Location

On‑site in Fort Myers, FL.

Physical & Working Conditions

Work in a manufacturing environment with chemical exposure; stand, walk, and lift up to 35 pounds. Perform repetitive tasks and operate standard office equipment. PPE such as safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses must be worn.
