Postdoctoral Researcher
Applications are invited for one postdoctoral researcher position at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) as part of a collaborative research project involving FGCU, the University of Florida (UF), and Florida State University (FSU). The project integrates field experiments, watershed modeling, and artificial intelligence to investigate the effects of agricultural nutrient reduction on downstream water quality and harmful algal blooms. The overall project includes complementary research positions at FGCU, UF, and FSU.
FGCU is recruiting for the following position:
Postdoctoral Researcher – Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL
Research will focus on lysimeter experiments, field hydrology, nutrient and water-quality monitoring, and integration of field observations with watershed and machine learning analyses. Field activities will primarily occur in Immokalee, Florida.
Applicants should have a strong background in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Scientific Computing, Data Science, or a related field. Strong quantitative, programming, or scientific communication skills are desirable. Postdoctoral applicants must have a PhD by the start of the appointment.
The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team across FGCU, UF, and FSU and will have opportunities to conduct field and computational research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at national conferences, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in multiple career development opportunities
