Overview

Guardian Professional Services is expanding our staff at Fort Myers RSW Airport Location. We are currently recruiting experienced Baggage Handler Agents and Porters. We are looking for someone who is energetic, detail oriented, motivated, able to lift bagged weight up to 75 lbs and can work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist passengers, offering answers to questions if needed
  • Interpersonal and customer service duties in a front-line role
  • Safety loading and unloading luggage
  • Accurately transferring baggage
  • Assist check-in airline agents with baggage requests
  • Take care of daily opening and closing of the terminal
  • Able to meet the station s attendance standards
  • Ensure baggage tagging is correct
  • Review all checked-in items for the correct labels to be handled properly
  • Evaluate customers  needs concerning airline locations
  • Other duties as assigned throughout the shift
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have clear background check
  • Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of similar work experience
Requirements
  • Full-time work week (40 hours)
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operations
  • Must pass thorough background screening to be eligible for this position
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of car insurance
  • Lift baggage up to 75 lbs
  • Strong customer service and communication skills as a front-line worker
  • Review all checked items for correct labels
  • Dress Code Guidelines: ensure a professional appearance
  • Other duties as assigned throughout the shift
Dress Code Guidelines

Employees are expected to present a professional business-like image while working at the Airport. Dress and personal hygiene should be appropriate to the work situation and consistent with the Company s standards.

  • For all male employees a fully grown mustache, beard or goatee is permitted
  • No visible tattoos or body piercings are allowed
  • Tattoos must be covered by uniform or other means agreed upon by management at hire
  • Clean and well-maintained approved uniforms must be worn on shift
  • Additional requirements as specified by management and location

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers and to communicate with customers and fellow employees. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stand; walk. The employee is also frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is required to twist, turn, stretch, and bend on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly and move in a relatively quick manner.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Pay Rate: 14.95/hr.
