Nestled within 620 acres of natural preserve in South Fort Myers, The Forest Country Club is a private, member-owned club featuring two championship golf courses, an active racquet sports program, fitness and wellness amenities, exceptional dining, and a vibrant social calendar. The Club serves both resident and non-resident members and continues to invest significantly in the member experience and its facilities, including the recently renovated Bear Golf Course and practice facilities.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Membership Development, in collaboration with the Director of Membership and Marketing, serves as an ambassador for The Forest Country Club's membership program. Reporting to the General Manager/COO, this proactive leader develops and executes strategic membership sales initiatives, drives prospect conversion, and contributes to the Club's long-term growth objectives.
This is a newly created role, developed to support achieving both near and long-term Club strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will combine sophisticated sales expertise with a passion for hospitality, creativity, and tenacity to meet the initial objectives and forward-thinking vision behind its creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and execute annual membership sales and marketing strategies.
- Generate qualified leads through referrals, networking, community outreach, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry through onboarding.
- Conduct personalized club tours and membership presentations.
- Maintain a robust prospect pipeline utilizing the Club's CRM.
- Achieve established membership growth and revenue targets.
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective members and key strategic relationships.
- Build strong relationships with current members to encourage referrals and advocacy.
- Represent the Club at community, business, golf, and social events.
- Foster positive relationships with local real estate professionals, community leaders, and influencers.
- Partner with leadership and marketing resources to promote membership opportunities.
- Manage membership-related communications, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Utilize CRM tools and reporting systems to track activity, conversion metrics, and performance.
- Analyze market trends and competitive positioning to identify growth opportunities.
- Provide regular membership performance reports to the Club’s General Manager/Chief Operating Officer and Club leadership.
- Contribute to membership forecasting and budgeting initiatives.
- Recommend innovative strategies for attracting and retaining members.
- Support the Club's overall mission, culture, and long-term vision.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of successful sales, membership, hospitality, luxury service, private club, resort, real estate, or related experience.
- Demonstrated record of achieving revenue and growth goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills in varying group settings.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, achieving outcomes via cross-functional collaboration.
