Tradesworker Senior - Paint Shop

Lee County is looking for skilled and dependable team members to help maintain and improve the spaces that serve our community every day. In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping County facilities safe, attractive, and functional through expert painting and finishing work.

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching holes, and masking areas.
• Paint a variety of surfaces, including walls, doors, floors, pipes, and parking lot markings.
• Remove graffiti using cleaning solutions and pressure washing.
• Stain and finish wood surfaces like doors and trim; occasionally refinish furniture.
• Provide cost estimates and coordinate with vendors.
• Use tools and equipment such as pressure washers, spray guns, brushes, rollers, ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
• Handle hazardous materials safely and follow all safety practices.
• Perform drywall repairs, apply texture finishes, install wallpaper, and cove base.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Work in different weather conditions and perform physical tasks like lifting, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.

• High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two (2) years of painting or related trade experience.
• Ability to pass a respirator physical and become respirator certified within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Will be required to undergo a fingerprint‑based NCIC background check, and must be able to obtain security clearances from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the State’s Attorney’s Office in addition to the standard Consumer Report‑based background check that is required for conditional offers of employment.

Tues‑Fri, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Must be available for on‑call shifts, overtime, and flexible hours as needed.
