Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Field / Road Mechanic (Heavy Civil Construction)

Earth Tech Enterprises is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Field/Road Mechanic to support our growing Heavy Civil and Site Development operations in Southwest Florida. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and fleet vehicles in the field to minimize downtime and keep our projects moving safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities- Perform field repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on construction equipment
- Repair and maintain equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, graders, and rollers
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrains, and braking systems
- Perform routine inspections, service intervals, and safety checks
- Respond to breakdowns at job sites to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Communicate equipment needs and repair recommendations to operations and fleet leadership
- Follow all safety procedures and company maintenance standards
- Excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and off‑road haul trucks
- Motor graders and rollers
- Skid steers and compact equipment
- Water trucks and support equipment
- Light‑duty and medium‑duty service trucks
- Diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains
- 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or field/road mechanic in heavy civil or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspections
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Welding and fabrication skills a plus
- Strong problem‑solving skills, reliability, and attention to detail
- Established heavy civil and marine contractor in Southwest Florida
- Well‑maintained fleet and steady pipeline of infrastructure and site development projects
