Opifex‑Synergy Pump Division is seeking a Field Technician to manage on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks. The role involves diagnosing equipment issues, performing maintenance, and providing customer and field support.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working conditions on the job site or in the shop
  • Performs routine equipment clean‑up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre‑delivery inspections
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on assigned equipment
  • Participates in all training programs directed by the Service Manager
  • Brings to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicles that are not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use
  • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations
  • Completes basic computer tasks including work orders, parts lookup, and email communication
  • Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top‑quality equipment availability and customer expectations are exceeded
  • Provides service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Ties workflow to schedule
  • Manages all on‑site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
  • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions
  • Produces timely and detailed service reports
  • Operates vehicles safely and uses field automation systems
  • Follows all company field procedures and protocols
  • Cooperates with the technical team and shares information across the organization
  • Comprehends customer requirements and makes appropriate recommendations or briefings
  • Builds positive relationships with customers
  • Exhibits strong teamwork
Required

Education and Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment
  • Proven field service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible shifts

Work Environment
  • Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes
  • Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel‑powered equipment
  • Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
  • Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels
  • Duties may involve shop‑based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sites
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times
  • PPE such as steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as needed
  • Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, confined spaces, or elevated positions
  • Lifting heavy components and materials is often required
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential as job site conditions and priorities change rapidly
Travel Required
  • Required to travel to various locations for training classes or seminars
  • Drive to multiple vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs
  • Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites
Physical Demands
  • Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility in jobsite and yard environments
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing 50+ pounds
  • Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement
  • Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or equipment is required
  • Must maintain balance while working from steps, ladders, or elevated platforms
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for handling controls, tie‑downs, and documentation
  • Must safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in hazardous driving and yard conditions
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components
