Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. In this role you will support and oversee repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills along with hand, digital, and power tools.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training for safe operation of equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Intermediate proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Individual compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and job classification. Eligible for bonus incentives. Pay range: $26.00–$51.00 per hour, with possible additional premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour.
