Job Title
Lee County Utilities (LCU) is looking for careful, safety-focused team members to help protect our community's underground utility systems.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do
- Locate water lines (1" to 36"), including valves, fire hydrants, meter boxes, and water service lines.
- Locate wastewater lines (4" to 30"), including sewer laterals, force mains, manholes, and valves.
- Locate reclaimed water lines (3" to 12"), including valves, meters, and service lines.
- Locate electric, fiber optic, and chemical lines as needed.
- Use hand tools and electronic locating equipment safely and correctly.
- Follow proper safety procedures when working around underground utilities.
- Keep accurate records of completed locates, markings, and field conditions.
What We're Looking For
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in utility locating or similar work. Related experience may include:
- Water, sewer, or reclaimed water line work
- Underground utility construction
- Utility mapping or field operations
- Reading utility drawings, blueprints, or as-built plans
- Field testing or inspection work
- Maintenance or repair of water or wastewater systems
- Ability to use locating equipment and understand the signals.
- Ability to read utility maps, construction plans, and as-built drawings.
- Strong time management and attention to detail.
Licensing Requirements
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
