Intake Specialist I
This is a paraprofessional and highly responsible intake position within Family Court Services' Self-Help Program. The Intake Specialist I is responsible for providing procedural information, documents and forms related to family and hands-on assistance to self-represented litigants. This position is required to conduct interviews and assist parties with the preparation and completion of family law forms by explaining process and procedures, and notarizing family court documents.
The Intake Specialist I position is responsible for performing case screenings, case intake and case coordination for family law cases. Work involves the use of Unified Family Court practices and the support of case management techniques to promote case progression and case disposition. The Intake Specialist I position is required to handle a high volume of public and professional inquiries, manage intake appointments, schedule case events and use/manage a multi-line telephone system.
Work is performed in a team setting, as well as on an individual basis and is performed under the supervision of the Family Court Services Program Coordinator and the Family/Civil Division Director. The core functions of this position are:
1) Assist self-represented litigants,
2) Perform case screenings and research,
3) Provide quality customer service,
4) Provide clerical and administrative support and
5) Other duties as assigned.
