Transportation Operations Manager

The role oversees transportation operations, fleet management, scheduling, compliance, reporting, and staff supervision, while also serving as a working driver and dispatcher when needed. The position ensures the safe, compliant, and compassionate transportation of patients and families and actively supports organizational mission, vision, and values.
Education and Experience- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous professional driving experience required.
- Minimum of six months to one year supervisory experience in transportation, preferably healthcare.
- Minimum of one year experience working with frail and elderly populations.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (state-specific).
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification with hands-on skills validation (ARC or AHA).
- Coordinate and oversee all transportation services and scheduling activities.
- Provide direct driver services as needed using safe and defensive driving techniques.
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and schedule transportation staff.
- Train drivers on specialty vehicle operation and patient transfer techniques.
- Coordinate and manage outside transportation vendors and review invoices.
- Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections, and vehicle safety programs.
- Maintain transportation operating procedures and program records.
- Ensure compliance with FDOT, FTA, CTC, Charter, AOR, Title VI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit transportation and grant reports including Section 5310 reports.
- Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Support grant writing efforts related to transportation services.
- Safely operate specialty vehicles and transport patients.
- Utilize proper body mechanics and patient transfer techniques.
- Use Universal Precautions and required PPE.
- Maintain clean and safe vehicle environments.
- Use phones, radios, and routing systems appropriately.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical equipment during transport.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull patients and equipment with assistance.
- Work primarily indoors with periodic outdoor exposure.
- Ability to concentrate amidst distractions and manage stressful situations appropriately.
Compensation Pay Range:
$67,976.53 - $
