Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist at Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park with the National Park Service.
Major Duties- Serves as facility management expert on interdisciplinary park management team.
- Actively involved in developing and implementing multi-year strategic plans and annual implementation plans, policies, and programs in compliance with, and application of, approved park management plans.
- Manages Facility Management Software Systems for cost effective management of park asset portfolio, including facilities, historic buildings and objects, roads, trails, campground, vault toilets, government vehicles, and equipment, etc.
- Plans, schedules, and directs work to operate facilities and assets at their most effective level.
- Responsible for implementing environmental management systems for complying with federal and state regulations.
- Maintains park facilities in compliance and best management practices of the NPS Environmental Audit Program.
- Responsible for development and implementation of projects.
- Coordinates project scope, goals, and objectives; facilitates planning and design processes; develops spending plan and budget protocols; manages construction process ensuring all project documentation is completed and archive.
- Responsible for comprehensive safety and training program to eliminate at-risk behaviors and environments and enforce regulatory policies and mandates.
- Responsible for the development and management of the maintenance division's budget.
- Exercises the full range of supervisory duties for subordinates.
- Salary Range Information (Per Annum): $89,508 - $116,362
* First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.

You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1-3 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1‑year probationary period to evaluate your fitness and whether your continuation of employment advances the public interest.
This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency;
whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized.
In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
