Job Description
Position Summary:
Under moderate direction, coordinates and supervises pharmacy services including the preparation, administration and dispensing of drugs, supplies, and equipment, preparation of non‑sterile products and clinical pharmacy services. The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can either be given immediate treatment for a trifling condition or be referred to a suitable doctor. Pharmacists must be able to provide professional advice on cosmetics or para pharmaceuticals.
- Minimum of two years experience as a pharmacist
- Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or RPh) from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Currently licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of pharmacy
- Possess necessary supervisory/management skills and/or experience to supervise the pharmacy
- Team player
- Problem solver
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and pharmacy information systems
- Good organizing and time‑management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers, clients, and employees
- Integrity and compassion
- Dependable in attendance and job performance
- Review and execute physician's prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Maintain full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicines and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
- Provide assistance and other medical services such as immunizations, blood pressure measurements, medication therapy management (MTM), etc.
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Keep records of patient history and all activities regarding medication
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Create a plan to mitigate risks of Direct and Indirect Renumeration (DIR) Fees by focusing heavily on quality and compliance
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
- Any other duties related to the pharmacist role as required
