Responsibilities
Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and is responsible for receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes. Validates and ensures accuracy of planograms.
- Reviewing and coordinating the proper use of reports and system applications that impact the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
- Executing and maintaining front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and filing claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- In designated stores, opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including systems start-ups, cash handling and cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day.
- Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. In designated stores, when serving as the leader on duty, resolves customer issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Executes and coaches team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
- Manages deliveries and One Box receiving; marks deliveries as received when appropriate and coordinates with vendors to correct inaccuracies.
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge, verifies all pharmacy shipments are posted for products received, and completes postings for pharmacy warehouse orders, prescription orders, and other related orders; conducts tote audits and reports shortages or damaged products.
- Completes On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end processes for planogrammed departments, including disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns before expiration; completes scan outs/returns for subscribed departments and pharmacy scan outs.
- Supports pharmacy inventory activities including recalls following Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Policy, vendor returns, non-controlled and damaged salvage returns; facilitates excess inventory returns or interstore transfers where applicable; verifies posting of pharmacy/prescription claims.
- Executes pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and signage accuracy; supports regulatory pricing tasks.
- Supports front end and pharmacy ordering, monitors manual orders for excesses, and maintains consigned inventory as required.
- Maintains accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across basic departments, stockroom, and overstock locations; ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Assocates with pharmacist-in-charge to maintain inventory counts in pharmacy and complete smart counts; assists in inventory records and file maintenance for invoices/receipts/return authorizations.
- Assists with physical inventory preparation and day-of activities; coordinates with third-party teams during inventory events.
- Attends company-based trainings and completes all e-learning modules including safety training requirements.
- Obtains and maintains a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
- Acts as a liaison between management and team members by coaching and developing inventory system capabilities; communicates tasks in designated leadership roles and reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- Six months of prior Walgreens experience (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail experience (external candidates).
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Proven performance history (internal candidates: “Achieving expectations” rating; no disciplinary actions in past 12 months).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask and execute; experience identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.
- Experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior Walgreens experience preferred and evaluation on file.

Salary Range: $17 - $20 / Hour
