Our Hotel General Manager oversees daily hotel operations, including guest satisfaction, human resources, and financial performance. Key responsibilities include ensuring brand standards are met, managing staff and training, and maintaining the guest experience while ensuring profitability. This role is ideal for a current General Manager to join a company with growth opportunities, or for an experienced AGM looking for their first General Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational oversight:
Overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, such as guest services, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance, ensuring efficiency and adherence to brand standards. - Guest experience:
Strive to exceed guest expectations by ensuring a high level of service and professionalism, and by promptly addressing guest needs and concerns. - Staff management and development:
Assist in managing, training, and developing departmental teams, and fostering a positive work environment. - Financial performance:
Help manage budgets, control costs, and ensure the hotel meets or exceeds financial goals and profitability objectives. - Human Resources:
Assist with HR functions like new hire orientations and ensuring compliance with company policies. - Leadership and strategy:
Implement property-wide strategies and lead by example to motivate staff and drive commitment to the hotel's goals. Hands-on leadership is required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the hotel industry, with 3-5 years of management experience, is ideal.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Experience with IHG systems and brand standards is a plus.
- A degree in hotel management, business, or a related equivalent field is preferred.
