Position: Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Wound Care Nurse

We are currently accepting applications for a Wound Care Nurse within our long-term care and rehab facility specializing in geriatrics. This position requires dedication to a job well done, dependability, flexibility, accountability, and a positive attitude is a must. Must enjoy working with our residents and families.

Qualifications
  • RN in the State of Alabama
  • Previous Treatment/Wound Care Experience preferred but willing to train and certify—facility will cover cost
  • Wound Care Certified a Plus
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the assessment and follow-up of each resident's need for and result of treatments in a designated area of the facility.
  • Communicate with the other Licensed Staff of the facility in assessing needs and results of staff action to assure residents do not decrease their functional abilities such as: obtain skin breakdown, contractures, weight loss, skin tears and so forth while in the facility.
  • Provides treatment of ostomies, stomas, acute and chronic wounds, and urinary and fecal incontinence breakdowns.
  • Be a team player who works with other teams to assure treatments are coordinated with other events of the day;
    Assists the Nursing Department to assure residents care plans are followed;
    Documents on records as per policy and procedures of the facility;
    Participates in staff meetings and in services as required. And provide a multidisciplinary approach to treatment to assure continuity of care.
