Infusion Nurse Opportunity
Hematology Oncology Associates of the Treasure Coast (HOATC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Nurse to administer non-chemotherapy infusion therapies in a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment. The Infusion Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, initiating and monitoring intravenous therapies, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality clinical outcomes.
This position involves administering a variety of specialty medications and hydration therapies, excluding chemotherapy treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed non-chemotherapy intravenous infusion therapies, injections, and hydration treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Assess patients prior to treatment, including vital signs, medication review, allergies, and infusion readiness.
- Start and maintain peripheral IV access and manage vascular access devices as appropriate.
- Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medication side effects, and post-infusion care.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, medication administration, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and nursing best practices.
- Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain infusion supplies, medications, and equipment according to clinic policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing clinical education.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience; infusion therapy experience preferred.
- Strong IV insertion and venipuncture skills required.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience with specialty infusions, biologics, hydration therapy, immunotherapy, or chronic disease management preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently
