Position: Woodland Hills Golf Course Clubhouse Supervisor
Location: Fort Scott, KS
SummaryThis position is responsible for managing, supervising, and directing the operation of the Woodland Hills Golf Course Clubhouse Supervisor while managing and supervising the play on the Woodland Hills Golf Course. Duties include the supervision of personnel assigned to work in the clubhouse, ordering of supplies, directing play on the golf course, and the administration of rules and regulations established for the operation of the facility.
Duties exclude golf course maintenance.
- Ensure the pro-shop and golf course is open, staffed, and available for use during prescribed hours of operation.
- Responsible to manage the membership and guest play of the golf course and operation of the clubhouse; supervises personnel, recommends hire and termination of employees, trains employees, administrates budget actions, prepares preliminary budgets and staff requirements.
- Administers the rules and regulations established for the operation of the golf course; proposes and makes recommendations to existing rules and regulations.
- Requisition s supplies, food, beverages, and equipment in accordance with merchandising and budgetary constraints; coordinates tournaments and golf education classes; promotes best interest in the use of the golf course facilities to local and regional communities.
- Schedules, plans, and provides general supervision to daily play, league, and tournament play. Coordinates food and beverage activity required for tournament play.
- Manages and cares for assigned golf cart fleet, plans and coordinates the repair of carts through warranty work or local repair.
- Manages the care of exterior plants and aesthetic landscaping of clubhouse.
- Keeps records of and assumes responsibility for all monies received at the golf course and clubhouse; prepares and maintains records relating to clubhouse and golf course revenue.
- Responsible to maintain interior of the clubhouse, restrooms, parking lot, golf cart parking area, golf cart storage sheds, in a clean, organized, and presentable manner.
- Responsible for marshaling of the course and enforcing rules and policy during daily play, league play and tournament play.
- Responsible for removing trash from the course and golf cart storage facility on a daily basis or as needed.
- Responsible to receive and evaluate course critique and suggestions for inclusion into course capital improvements plan or immediate implementation.
- Responsible for creating superb customer service through a well-trained staff, care and cleaning of facilities and equipment.
Considerable knowledge of golf course operations and the principles and practices of the game of golf.
Thorough knowledge of the methods used in the management of golf courses and associated services such as tournament management, advertising and marketing of the course and various creative methods of increasing play.
Previous business management.
Possess outstanding interpersonal skills to facilitate team building and cooperative methods of bringing multiple organizations to successful completion of various golf event activities.
Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates engaged in golf course operation.
Ability to estimate materials, supplies, and equipment needed in golf course operations.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
Working Environment / Physical DemandsWork takes place both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working under extreme outdoor weather conditions, working around moving parts, carts, or machines. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, coats, goggles, gloves, or shields. Requires some physical exertion such as walking, climbing, bending, stooping, stretching, or similar activities.
