Virtue Energy Services, LLC, which has over 45 years of history, is an oilfield service company supporting oil and gas operators in the Arkoma Basin, covering eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. The company specializes in contract drilling, completions, workover operations, plug and abandonment (P&A), compression rentals, and saltwater disposal (SWD). Virtue Energy Services also provides roustabout services and lease operating management, helping clients maintain safe and efficient production.

Team members contribute to a broad portfolio of field services that are essential to the energy sector’s daily operations and long-term asset integrity. Oxley Energy, an affiliated upstream company, operates over 400 wells in the Arkoma Basin.

The Controller is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Smith, AR, responsible for owning the accounting and financial control environment. This role manages the general ledger, monthly and year-end close, and preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. The Controller will monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts; supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll;

and support tax and audit processes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and strengthening internal controls, reviewing job cost reports, coordinating with operations leadership on financial performance, and improving processes that enhance efficiency, data integrity, and financial transparency. The role also involves leading and mentoring accounting staff, collaborating with senior management on financial planning and providing timely analysis to support strategic decisions. Additional focus areas include multi-entity accounting, lender/borrowing-base reporting, revenue integrity, and connecting field activity to accurate financial results.

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with demonstrated ownership of month-end close, management reporting, FP&A, cash/liquidity forecasting, banking/lender reporting, and operational financial analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and support experienced accounting staff (including Payroll, AP, and AR) and to partner effectively with field and operations personnel. Experience with RAMP (or similar AP/PO systems) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with internal controls, compliance, audits, and tax-related processes within a multi-entity environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains). Intermediate-level Excel skills required (data extraction, pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and basic financial modeling/forecasting).
• Background in the oil and gas or energy services industry, including job costing and project-based accounting, is highly beneficial.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including managing and developing accounting teams and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred, but not necessary, based on experience.
