Job SummaryOffers administrative, clerical and programming support to enhance and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Engineering department in the College of Business and Industry. Supports the engineering department head and faculty, assists with student success and stakeholder engagement initiatives, and maintains faculty/course information essential to the maintenance of programmatic accreditation.
Essential Responsibilities- Performs basic reception and clerical duties (25%).
- Coordinates travel and reimbursements (15%).
- Creates and tracks departmental requisitions (15%).
- Supports faculty instructional and research needs (10%).
- Assists with department or college leadership for programmatic accreditation, faculty, and/or assessment records (5%).
- Maintains calendar and appointment schedule for engineering department head (5%).
- Maintains departmental files, records, and logs (5%).
- Maintains inventory of office and instructional supplies; purchases supplies as needed (5%).
- Receives and distributes mail and packages (5%).
- Participates in department or college meetings or events (5%).
- Participates in UAFS recruitment/yield events as requested (5%).
- Receives, distributes, or responds to mail/email addressed to the departments as appropriate.
- Assists with events planning and support.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to student workers.
- Requires consistent on-time attendance.
- Proficient in Workday, Microsoft Office, and other databases.
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities and maintain organization.
- Strong command of grammar both written and spoken.
- Ability to act with discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to apply policies and procedures consistently.
- Service-oriented attitude, anticipates needs, and seeks solutions for co-workers and constituents.
Required Education and/or
Work Experience:
Associate degree plus two years in an office setting.
Preferred Education and/or
Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree.
Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Occasional travel and extended hours required. Requires frequent standing and sitting, occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
