Summary ofJob Duties
Teach in one of the following subject areas as assigned: BSN, BSN Accelerated, BSN Evening and Weekend; ADN, ADN LPN‑RN Transition. This is a pool position; applicants will be contacted as positions become available. The position reports to the department head/program director/dean who assigns responsibilities regarding student needs and course outcomes.
QualificationsRequired Education and/or
Work Experience:
- For instructors teaching both lower and upper‑level courses leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in the discipline or a related field is required with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the subject area.
- Courses leading to a master’s degree require a doctorate degree.
- Adjunct faculty with a clinical assignment must be at the level required by accreditation.
- Instructors in occupational and technical areas are generally required to have a minimum of an associate’s degree and related work experience.
- Other job‑related education and/or experience may substitute for part of these requirements.
Preferred Education and/or
Work Experience:
- Prior teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Current knowledge of the relevant discipline.
- Good organizational skills and timely responses to student inquiries.
- Ability to meet the needs of learners from a variety of educational backgrounds in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to deliver course outcomes and content through a variety of teaching/learning styles.
- Proficiency in using technology effectively in teaching.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues.
- Classroom and online instruction.
- Assess and evaluate student learning.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by fostering teamwork and providing leadership to subordinates.
- Ensure consistent, on‑time attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) check are required. A drug screen, child maltreatment check, and proof of immunizations may also be required depending on the area of study.
Salary & BenefitsSalary is dependent upon department.
