Summary ofJob Duties
Responsible for teaching a 15‑hour load per semester, covering undergraduate level lecture and lab courses in calculus‑based and non‑calculus‑based classical physics, as well as courses in any area of physics related to graduate expertise. Mentor undergraduate students.
Support the physics minor and related programs, provide limited service to the department, college, and university, and participate in committees and student recruitment.

- Service to the department, college, and university, including committees and curriculum assessments.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere, foster teamwork, provide leadership, and ensure consistent on‑time attendance.
Job Responsibilities
- Attendance and participation in all faculty and administrative meetings, the Student Research Symposium, commencement ceremonies, and other required events.
- Complete required employee professional development assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to effectively teach a variety of undergraduate calculus- and non‑calculus‑based physics courses.
- Ability to incorporate technology into classroom instruction to enhance student learning.
- Effective communication with students and coworkers.
- Interaction with diverse groups of people in individual and team settings.
- Promotion of student learning success with instructional methods that address varied learning styles.
- Minimum education:
Masters (Instructor) or PhD (Assistant Professor) in any field of physics, atmospheric science, or geophysics with at least 18 graduate‑level credit hours in physics. - Teaching experience in physics or closely related subjects and evidence of undergraduate research interests preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, superior people skills, and proficiency in instructional technology.
- Other relevant experience may be substituted.
Visiting Instructor:
Minimum $48,000.
Visiting Assistant Professor:
Minimum $53,000.
