This position is fully on‑site and requires a regular presence in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology will plan, direct, and implement programs, policies, and procedures for Obstetrics & Gynecology within the Department of Primary Care. The role ensures integration of scientifically based, outcome‑evaluated clinical knowledge, biomedical sciences, and osteopathic principles for pre‑doctoral and/or post‑doctoral students. The candidate will provide service to the college, engage in innovative scholarship and research, and advance medical knowledge.

• Provide oversight and direction in planning, developing, and implementing ARCOM’s Obstetrics & Gynecology curriculum to ensure clinical and biomedical science integration and competency in the AOA core competencies.
• Oversee education and instruction for students while mentoring and motivating learning in educational and clinical settings.
• Lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of clinical, standardized, and simulated education offerings.
• Provide professional and clinical services consistent with training and degree requirements to develop and maintain clinical skills and competency.
• Establish and maintain scheduled office hours for faculty advising, student advising, tutoring, remediation, and consultation.
• Lead administrative efforts, faculty mentorship, and development for junior faculty and staff.
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate faculty for clinical education efforts.
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and modification as part of the college’s quality improvement program.
• Assess and evaluate students, providing feedback and remedial assistance to ensure standards are met.
• Model professionalism and ethical behavior in all personal and professional actions.
• Prepare grant proposals and academic evaluative reports.
• Advance research and scholarly activity through leadership, mentorship, and participation.
• Serve on committees as assigned and provide clinical supervision of students participating in community outreach, international medical events, and progressional organizations.
• Adapt to mission, values, and goals through teaching, administration, patient care, and community service.
• Maintain CME and licensure requirements, develop a personal and professional development plan, and sustain ongoing competency within the specialty field.
• Advance the college’s prestige through scholarly publication and service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Primary Care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Terminal degree (DO or MD) with current board certification in an appropriate area of specialization.
• Demonstrated leadership, productivity, and administrative experience in a clinical, professional, scholarly, or educational setting.
• Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
• Eligible for coverage by the college’s malpractice insurer if applicable.

• Three years of full‑time faculty experience at a College of Osteopathic Medicine or College of Allopathic Medicine.
• Demonstrated leadership and productivity in clinical or professional service, scholarly activity, medical research, or education.

• Knowledge and skill in delivering medical education in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.
